Milton Augustine Evans LL.B (HONS)
Born at Nicoll's Town, Andros Bahamas on January 5th 1960. He was admitted to the Bahamas Bar in October 1988.
Education
He received his Bachelors of Laws Degree with Honours from the University of the West Indies in 1986 and his Certificate of Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School in 1988. From 1988-93 was in private practice involved in both criminal and civil litigation and corporate law. In 1993 joined the office of the Attorney General and served as crown counsel, Assistant Director and finally Deputy Director of Legal Affairs. He is generally regarded as an expert in Administrative and Constitutional Law matters having conducted most of the major civil litigation matters for the Government from 1997-2003. He has appeared in all courts of the Bahamas including the Privy Council located in London.
A former lecturer and tutor in civil practice and procedure at the Eugene Dupuch Law School he now serves as an associate tutor for the law of Evidence. Mr. Evans is currently a member of the Board of the Deposit Insurance Corporation and was appointed by the Government to serve as member of the Social Security Reform Commission as well as the Judicial Review Commission appointed to review the terms of employment and working conditions of Judicial officers in the Bahamas.
